My wedding day experience with Melissa was fabulous. She did the makeup for both myself and a bridesmaid the morning of my wedding. My consultation was very thorough and she was able to tweak everything to meet my ideal. Her communication during and leading up to the special day was excellent. The morning of my wedding, Melissa was there early to set up and budgeted her time well between my makeup and my bridesmaid's. She made me feel special and was an incredibly calming presence. I have been competing in beauty pageants for the last 7 years, and I only wish I had known about Melissa's ability sooner!

Melissa was great to work with and took time to ask me what I wanted and what kind of look I was going for. The test makeup came out nearly as I wanted and Melissa took copious notes on what to change to make it perfect. She even found the longest fake eyelashes I have ever seen. They made quite the impact the day of!
Wedding day: even though she got stuck in traffic and couldn't find the hotel we were staying at- running a few minutes late, she called and told us she was running late, apologized profusely and arrived 10 minutes later. Once she arrived she was unflappable and 100% professional and got me and my three bridesmaids done right on time; she didn't even seem rushed at all. Great service and great value.

Melissa Mangrum was amazing; the epitome of professional, she is truly all about her craft. I had makeup consultations with two other artists and Melissa was the 2nd. The first I had 2 consultations with. I met with Melissa and booked immediately. I met with one more, a friend of a friend...no one held a candle to Melissa's handiwork. I gave her images of what I liked on various women (various races, ages, colors, styles) she took that inspiration and created an amazingly natural look. She blended various colors of foundation to give me an exact match, (I happen to be African American with a rich dark hue complexion, but know that Melissa's talent is to ACCENTUATE anyone's features and make ANYONE look great, so don't think she can only make African American skin look great, she can make EVERYONE's skin look great, ) it looked like my skin, not makeup. She used lashes that enhanced my existing lashes, gave me a cooling neck rest/roll while she applied my makeup, a wonderful hand massage that left my hands soooo soft (how did she do that?) and each and every person that sat in her chair (a total of 7 including me) was beaming when they got up. These women knew they looked phenomenal and they immediately were walking taller, smiling bigger and feeling great. Thank you Melissa for your professionalism (arrived on time, completed on schedule, helped out with photos) and for making me and my crew of amazing women look as amazing outside as they made me feel all of my life (beautiful, powerful, loved). I contacted Melissa Mangrum & Co. to do my makeup for my wedding. Melissa was great to work with. We did a test run of the look about 2 months before my wedding. I was impressed by her professionalism and I think she really took the time to understand the look I wanted to achieve. She was prompt and on time the day of my wedding (as I was super late getting to her...lol). She took her time with my makeup the day of my wedding and I was 100% pleased with the outcome! Hire! hire! hire! Melissa proved to be very professional, dependable, and very good! She came On A last minute call and yet worked out her busy schedule so she could help out in my situation. I felt and looked amazing both hair and make up. I loved how she applied my make up it stayed perfect all night as well as my up-do.

I used Melissa's service on June 11th for my local reception in Ashburn VA. She not only traveled from Maryland just to do my makeup, but she had a good attitude - even though i was her last appointment of the day! I'm sure she was exhausted. I told her I wanted my makeup natural but sexy.. That's exactly what it was. She listened to me, took her time and payed attention to details.
